Your Name Animation

The first step to making this animation is to go into photoshop and select file. Once you open file you press new, then you add in the dimensions 400x600. After that you select the text tool that will be on the left hand side. Next you type your name and choose what color and font you want!

The second step is to make a copy of your first layer. To do that you have to click on the layer you want to copy then drag down to the very bottom and you will see a little paper icon once you hit it you let go and you have yourself a copy.

The third step is to keep copying until you get to layer 4. Once you get to this layer you will start to erase your last letter. But DO NOT erase the whole letter just the slightest bite.  After you erase part of your letter you copy it again. After you copy it you have to hide your next layer. You do that by pressing the little eye button next to your layer. Keep doing this to each letter. But remember do not do the whole letter.

The fourth step is to keep copying and erasing your letters until you have nothing left. Here's a trick if you can't tell if you erased all of the letter. You go to the left hand side of photoshop where the tool bar is. You will see a magnifying glass click on it. This will allow you to zoom in and out. This way you can get a better look at your animation. If you want to zoom out you simply double click on the icon.

The fifth step is to keep erasing until your done and get a blank screen. On the right hand side you will have a little tool bar where you will see all of your layers.

The sixth step is to go to windows and select timeline you want to get the check mark by the word timeline.

The seventh step is to get your layers into the timeline. Using step six now you should see something at the bottom of your screen that's your timeline, on the top of your timeline there is a little hidden side bar. Click on it, once it appears you will want press select all layers. After that you want to press make frames from layers. You will see that by doing this all of your layers will be in your timeline.
The seventh step is to reverse your frames you do that by clicking on the side bar again and going down and select reverse frames.
The eighth step is to copy the very last layer in your timeline. Then you want go where you copied your layers you'll see there is a button that says fx. click on that and this is where it gets fun. You can customize what you want your name to look like. Personally i chose pattern lay over but feel free to explore.
That's it you're done! This is what your animation should look like when you're done!

10 Words Animation

This week in e-comm we took what we learned in the past two weeks and applied it to this animation. We took our ten words that describes us and used them. The difference between this animation and the last two is that we didn't use layers, instead we used video animation. Thats where you can just add effects instead of having to make a new frame and move the object every time you want it to do something. We could make it fade in or out and even make it spin.  It was very fun learning how to use the video part of photoshop!

Bouncing Animation

This week in e-comm we used what we learned last week and incorporated it into this new animation.  We used different layers to create the effect of the smily face bouncing. We also used squash and stretch again, but for our squash face we made it almost look like it was compressed when it hit the letters. We also used arcs that were drown on one layer as an outline to put our smily faces on. You might ask where are the layers now? Well we hide them! On photoshop for every layer you can hide it. I learned a lot this week and it was so cool being able to se how this animation turned out!
